Comprehensive Physical Exam

A Comprehensive, head-to-toe assessment.

We begin the process with an in-depth, detailed physical, examining your body from head to toe. We use hundreds of advanced laboratory tests, going far beyond traditional methods of testing. These high-level tests help us more accurately diagnose cardiovascular diseases, genetic disorders, diabetes, and other metabolic conditions.

Below are just some of the functions and risk factors we evaluate on the road to helping you look and feel great.

Comprehensive Physical Exams include:

FULL BODY ASSESSMENT

Physical Exam

Our physician will spend about an hour giving your body a full head to toe assessment.  The physical exam is a vital part of preventive medicine for all people regardless of age, sex or activity level; its importance cannot be emphasized enough.  Studies prove that no test is better in detecting early onset problems than a comprehensive exam by a qualified physician.

BRAIN FUNCTION ASSESSMENT

CNS Vital Signs

This neurocognitive test assesses a broad spectrum of brain performance. Through these tests, we can determine your strengths and weaknesses in brain function, including memory, attention, decision making, reflexes, and more.

HEART FUNCTION

Electrocardiogram

An EKG measures the heart’s rate and whether it is regular or irregular. Electrocardiograms can also be used to show the electrical conduction through the heart’s chambers, which can be helpful in determining whether the heart muscle has been damaged, and may also identify previously undetected heart attacks.

LUNG FUNCTION

Spirometry Test

A spirometer assesses how well your lungs work by measuring how much air you inhale, how much you exhale, and how quickly you exhale. Spirometry can diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and other conditions that affect breathing.

IMMUNE FUNCTION

Immune System Testing

Through a specialized blood analysis, we monitor any decrease in the natural killer cells that fight off new infections and cancers. By assessing the defensive strength of your immune system, we can improve your ability to fight off disease.

BODY FUNCTION

Body Composition

Your body fat percentage, and more specifically your visceral fat, is the only true weight measurement of health. Rather than focusing on weight and scales, we set the industry standard with our GE Lunar Prodigy Advanced DXA. This low-dose X-ray analysis is the gold standard for health assessment, since it precisely measures the fat, muscle, and bone of each segment of the body.

Bone Density Test

Using the cutting-edge GE Lunar Dexa bone densitometer, we measure your bone density and provide you with therapy options to keep your bones strong and healthy.

CANCER SCREENING

Ivygene Test

We screen for early signs of cancer using the Ivygene blood test, which helps detect early forms of cancer by identifying methylated DNA fragments associated with cancer. Early cancer detection gives you many more treatment option than traditional methods or therapy.

GENETIC ANALYSIS

Genomic Testing

We analyze your genome through a sample of your saliva, which gives us your personal genetic blueprint. We then utilize our highly advanced software program to assist our team in evaluating your DNA and what this blueprint means for you. We can then actually reengineer the way your genes are expressed through specific supplementation.

Two exams, one complete look at your health.

Executive Physical

Testosterone Therapy

Men need testosterone to live well—not just for optimal mental and physical health, but to prevent chronic illnesses. With years of experience evaluating and treating low T, Dr. Savage customizes each treatment, using testosterone pellets or injections to optimize effective and safe improvements in health, energy, stamina, sex drive, and performance.

Testosterone Pellets

Testosterone pellets are the only method of testosterone therapy that delivers consistent, physiologic levels of testosterone, thus avoiding fluctuations in hormone levels—and in mood and energy—that can be caused by other methods of delivery. Lasting from four to six months, pellets are the most effective, safest, and convenient form of testosterone replacement.

How Pellets Work
Each Tic-Tac-sized pellet contains crystalline testosterone. During a brief and painless in-office procedure, pellets are implanted under the skin in the upper buttock area. The incision is so small it can be closed with a piece of tape. Once implanted, the pellets deliver a stable, steady dose of testosterone.

Proven Results
Studies show that pellets are the superior form of testosterone replacement therapy in increasing lean body mass—muscle strength and bone density—and decreasing fat mass; and in improving libido, sexual response, and performance. Proven benefits include increased strength, coordination and physical performance, and improvement in concentration and memory. The change starts within days. There is more data to support the use of pellets than any other method of testosterone therapy.

Injections

Injected into the thigh, glute, or deltoid muscles, testosterone is absorbed directly into the bloodstream. One advantage of injections is flexibility—dosages can be changed with each injection, if necessary, to achieve optimal concentrations. Administered weekly, biweekly, or bi-monthly, testosterone injections can boost energy, sex drive, and quality of erections; increase lean muscle mass; decrease body fat; boost memory and concentration; and relieve anxiety and depression.

Testosterone Therapy: Safe and Effective

What You Should Know
  • Low testosterone is a well-established medical condition that negatively affects male sexuality, reproduction, general health, and quality of life.
  • Symptoms and signs of low testosterone occur as a result of low levels of testosterone and may benefit from treatment, regardless of whether there is an identified underlying origin.
  • Testosterone therapy for men with low testosterone is effective and evidence-based.
  • There is no established testosterone level that reliably distinguishes those men who will respond to treatment from those who will not.
  • There is no scientific basis for withholding testosterone therapy to older adult males.
  • Testosterone therapy does not increase the risk of prostate cancer.
  • Testosterone therapy does not increase the risks of heart attacks or heart disease.
  • Testosterone therapy has benefits for cardiometabolic disease, including diabetes
While there are risks associated with testosterone therapy, these are generally related to improper dosing; these risks include acne, blood clots, hair loss, and breast development. With decades of experience in administering appropriate testosterone therapy, we encounter these side effects in our patients infrequently.
